WebQuest simply means, inquiry, research across the web.
It is a proposal to integrate the principles of socio-constructivist learning, teaching methodology for projects, and reflective web surfing to develop an educational proposal (of formal and non-formal, classroom-based and distance education), working with a group of students in a real classroom or at a distance.

What issues will be addressed in this seminar?

With lots of LAB practice, as a kind of workshop - which we hope you will continue on your own… and we will support (I will later mention what exactly is the proposal for these 2 days of work)-, we will try to deepen the impact given by the interaction between the WebQuests produced and thought strategies used, since they constitute a very interesting stimulation of higher thought functions and metacognition….
You will have to take this into account when writing a WebQuest with the collaborative work of the producers of the same, through the roles to be played in these contexts because these experiences can only be understood within the context of a participatory web ….
In this lies the main novelty of the proposal: to work more in depth than in extension.

What are WebQuests good for?

These are platforms designed for search and transformation, exchange and collaboration, thinking that knowledge is built by working as a team, so that groups that are close or far away , with common interests, may develop them, share them, use them, apply them in fieldwork… etc..
As you can see it is NOT a methodology to be used only in schools and universities, but it is rather in companies and social organizations of all types where we best see its usefulness, since it involves the creation and management of technological knowledge, applicable to any field of knowledge .
